As of February 20, 2025, Forever 21 is preparing to close approximately 200 additional stores as it approaches a potential second bankruptcy filing, which could occur as soon as next month. If a suitable buyer isn’t found for the remaining stores, the entire chain, consisting of around 350 locations, may face liquidation. Many of the stores slated for closure have been unprofitable for years.  

Specific details about all the stores set to close haven’t been fully disclosed yet. However, several locations have already announced closures:

    •    California: Stores in Fresno, Bakersfield, and Palm Desert have begun “going-out-of-business” sales.  

    •    Connecticut: Three out of six stores, located in Manchester, Milford, and Waterford, are scheduled to close between mid-March and late April, with liquidation sales offering discounts from 10% to 40%.  

    •    Maryland: The store at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda is closing, featuring “everything must go” sales with discounts up to 40%.
