Claire’s, the popular accessories and jewelry store known for serving tweens, teens, and young women, has officially filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy as of August 6, 2025. The company is taking steps to restructure its business and reduce its debt, citing rising costs, increased competition, and changes in shopping habits as reasons for the decision.
As part of the bankruptcy filing, Claire’s will be closing 18 retail locations across the United States, including both Claire’s and its sister brand Icing. All closing sales are expected to end by September 7, 2025.
